UNIT 5. GLOSSSARY

Access A means of approaching, entering, exiting, communicating with, or making use of
Bookmark  A record of a selected webpage or URL kept by a program such as a web browser or help utility. Bookmarks allowthe user to find and return to a selected site by clicking an easily recognizable link.
Comment A written note intended as an explanation, illustration, or criticism of a passage in a book or other writing; anannotation.
Edit to prepare (written material) for publication or presentation, as by correcting, revising, or adapting
Host A computer or other device providing data or services that a remote computer can access by means of anetwork or modem.
Launch To introduce to the public or to a market:
Log on/off
Network A group or system of electric components and connecting circuitry designed to function in a specific manner.
Register
Respond
Transfer
UploadTo convey or cause to pass from one place, person, or thing to another.

Diplomacy: The skill of dealing with people without upsetting them.
Etiquette: Rules for behaviour in society.
Politeness: Good manners and respect for others.
Rudeness: Bad manners and a lack of respect for others.
Tradition: A belief or way of doing something which has existed for some time.
Appreciation: Enjoyment from something that is good quality.
Rank: The position that someone has in an organisation, society, etc.
Netiquette: Rules of acceptable behaviour on the internet. For example: for writing a blog post.
Consideration: The quality of being sensitive to others and thinking about their feelings.
